Empowering Change, One Youth at a Time

In the heart of Panlap Town, Makeni, a powerful movement is taking root. On a bright and inspiring day, Young Voices of Africa (YVA) hosted a community impact event at Joshua Divine International Academy, a gathering driven by purpose, unity, and a vision for a better Africa.

This event wasn’t just about showing up. It was about showing what’s possible when young people rise to the occasion, speak up, and lead the change they want to see.

A Day Built on Purpose and Passion

Our mission at YVA is grounded in bold action that reflects the African Youth Goals we believe in. During this event, we focused on three urgent priorities:
Goal 1: Eradicating Poverty,
Goal 9: Creating Employment, and
Goal 15: Promoting Female Empowerment.

Our Vice President, Alhassan Kallon, and Ambassador Alusine Kallon, representing YVA President & CEO Kelvin Akpaloo, addressed the young minds and local community members gathered. They brought not just words, but a renewed commitment to empowering African youth through education, awareness, and opportunity.

Global Partnerships, Local Change

This milestone event was made possible through the support of our international partner, KAMM Artistic Europe (@kamm.ae). Their belief in the vision of African youth and the strength of creative activism has amplified our efforts and allowed the world to see what young Africans are capable of when given the platform.

Together, we’re building a network that connects local stories with global change-makers, showing that meaningful impact starts in the classroom, in the streets, and in the hearts of young people ready to lead.

Lifting Youth, Inspiring Communities

The energy was electric. Students from Joshua Divine International Academy engaged with our ambassadors in powerful conversations about leadership, entrepreneurship, and the critical role young people play in shaping the continent’s future.

Girls were reminded that their dreams are valid and that their voices matter. Boys were challenged to be allies in the fight for equality. And all were invited to see themselves not as the leaders of tomorrow, but as the change-makers of today.

The Journey is Just Beginning

This event was not an endpoint. It was a spark.

A spark that reminds us that real transformation begins at the grassroots—when schools become hubs of empowerment and when youth are trusted with the tools to shape their destiny.

At YVA, we are not here to speak for Africa. We are here to amplify Africa’s youngest voices, to invest in their dreams, and to ignite action that echoes across nations.

This is a community. This is an impact. This is the power of youth.
Join us on the journey, support, share, and be a part of something extraordinary.
