Community Impact Event at Joshua Divine International Academy
Advancing Youth Goals Through Grassroots Action in Makeni
When change begins, it often starts in our schools, where young minds are sparked with vision and empowered to dream. At Joshua Divine International Academy in Panlap Town, Makeni, we saw this spark come alive. Young Voices of Africa (YVA) hosted a transformative community event that brought together educators, students, and ambassadors to inspire action around some of the continent’s most urgent challenges.
This gathering was part of our ongoing commitment to the African Youth Goals, with a focus on eradicating poverty, creating employment opportunities, and empowering young women.
About The Event
About The Event
Representing our leadership team, including President/CEO Kelvin Akpaloo, the event was led by YVA Vice President Alhassan Kallon and Ambassador Alusine Kallon, with support from our dedicated continent-wide network.
The day featured powerful conversations around youth challenges and possibilities, highlighting the untapped potential of students and community members. Interactive sessions explored what it means to lift communities out of poverty, the importance of economic empowerment through skills and education, and how we can raise confident, capable young women who lead change.

We were honored to receive international backing from our creative and strategic partners, @kamm.ae (KAMM Artistic Europe). “Our visit to Joshua Divine International Academy stands as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we connect with young people directly in their environment, on their terms. These community events are central to our mission: creating real, lasting impact through empowerment, education, and leadership.
To everyone who made this moment possible, especially the students, teachers, YVA ambassadors, and our friends at KAMM Artistic Europe, thank you. Together, we’re building not just leaders, but a legacy.”
